Our story
Barwah Academy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded on a legacy of education and leadership that began in Ghana. For years, we built a strong foundation through in-school projects and soccer camps, where we witnessed firsthand the power of education and mentorship to transform young lives. While our primary focus has now shifted to empowering youth right here in Charlotte, we continue to collaborate with our partners in Ghana to bring positive change to children's lives. We are building on our previous successes and are excited to serve the next generation of leaders in Charlotte.
Our Goals
Empowerment Through Art & Culinary Skills: Use creative expression to boost self-esteem and give kids healthy outlets.
Cultivate Leaders in Our Community: Equip Charlotte youth with the leadership skills needed to make positive choices and guide their peers.
Reduce Youth Criminal Activity: Provide safe, engaging spaces and programs that offer a positive alternative to high-risk behaviors.
